It's now over 6 months later and we're no closer to getting there.
It seems there was a good reason why John Phillips, Scott McKenzie, Mike Love, and Terry Melcher only wantedto take you to Aruba and Jamaica rather than actually taking you. Pretty mama was having trouble getting from either island to Bermuda or the Bahamas. Key Largo was probably not by choice - it's more convenient to fly from there to Montego than from Texas or New Jersey. It seems they could take you from Martinique to that Monserrat mystique quite easily by ferry, however that mystique is most likely buried by flows of volcanic activity and part of the "exclusion zone" now imposed on part of the island due to the size of the existing volcanic dome and the resulting potential for pyroclastic activity. I reckon they also only wanted to catch a glimpse of Port Au Prince due to the travel warning regarding the crime level, lack of adequate infrastructure (particularly in medical facilities), seasonal severe inclement weather, and limited police protection.

We're going to every place mentioned in the song, but first we need to figure out wtf Kokomo is.
General internet opinion seems to suggest that the Kokomo in the song is a made up place, but here are some real Kokomo's we've found:
1. Kokomo, Indiana.
It made us happy that the mayor of this Kokomo is Greg Goodnight, and that Kokomo had a "boom" in business when natural gas was discovered there. It didn't make us happy to discover that Kokomo hosted the largest Ku Klux Klan gathering in history in 1923;
2. Kokomo, Mississippi.
I don't know much about this place, apart from churches.
3. Kokomo, Hawaii.
This is apparently a community, which I assume means a town or suburb.
4. Kokomo Island, Jamaica.
This really is off the Florida Keys, but now it's called Sandals Cay. Also, it appears that the song came first and was actually inspired by a pool-side bar in Islamorada, in the Florida Keys. I think we should go there too.
Which should we go to?

Jamaica…
Off the Florida Keys, there's a place called Kokomo.
That's where you wanna
go to get away from it all.
Bodies in the sand, tropical drink melting in your hand.
We'll be falling in love to the rhythm of a steel drum band.
Down in Kokomo.
Aruba, Jamaica, oooh I
wanna take you to Bermuda, Bahama, come on pretty mama!
Key Largo, Montego, baby
why don't we go down to Kokomo?
We'll get there fast and then we'll take it slow.
That's where we wanna go, way down to Kokomo.
To Martinique, that
Monserrat mystique.
We'll put out to sea and we'll perfect our chemistry.
By and by we'll defy a
little bit of gravity.
Afternoon delight, cocktails and moonlit nights.
That dreamy look in your
eye give me a tropical contact high.
Way down in Kokomo.
Port Au Prince I wanna
catch a glimpse.
Everybody knows a little place like Kokomo.
Now if you wanna go and get away from it all…
Go down to Kokomo!
- John Phillips, Scott McKenzie, Mike Love, and Terry Melcher.
